OGA contracts Osokey for North Sea subsurface support

Britain’s Oil and Gas Authority has appointed subsurface specialist Osokey to support development of the National Data Repository.

LONDON – Britain’s Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) has appointed subsurface specialist Osokey to support development of the National Data Repository.

Osokey will deliver its cloud-based system during 2021 to open access to wide-ranging of petroleum-related information including wellbores and geophysical surveys.

In addition, the company will use its technology to optimize storage of petroleum-related information hosted within the OGA’s cloud systems and supply data reporting workflows to assist further data disclosure.

The OGA is seeking to improve user access to larger volumes of legacy data.

Osokey will collaborate with Moveout Data Seismic Services, which will deliver quality control and services for ingestion of physical media to support accurate legacy data submissions.

In addition, Osokey’s technology will provide the OGA platform with data visualization/sharing capabilities for activities ranging from exploration to carbon storage site assessment.
