Fugro to assess seafloor conditions for Pecan project offshore Ghana

Aker Energy has contracted Fugro to perform geotechnical and geophysical survey services over the location of the planned Pecan field development offshore Ghana.

LEIDSCHENDAM, the NetherlandsAker Energy has contracted Fugro to perform geotechnical and geophysical survey services over the location of the planned Pecan field development offshore Ghana.

The program will involve compiling seabed and sub-seabed data to assist planning and placement of the subsea infrastructure and the FPSO.

Fugro will acquire geophysical survey data using the Fugro Searcher vessel and the deepwater AUV Echo Surveyor VI.

Subsequently, the geotechnical vessel Fugro Scout will undertake drilling, seabed sampling and in-situ testing.

To boost local content, the shore base for the two ships will be Takoradi in western Ghana, with materials sourced locally sourced where possible.
