Wassana redevelopment advances as new platform sails toward Gulf of Thailand installation

Valeura Energy has completed construction of the new central processing platform for the Wassana Field in the Gulf of Thailand, with installation activities underway and first oil targeted for early second-quarter 2027.

Why this news matters:

  • The redevelopment is expected to increase Wassana production from roughly 3,000 b/d to 10,000 b/d.

  • The new platform could extend the field's productive life through 2042.

  • Built-in capacity for future satellite tiebacks provides a pathway for additional resource development in the area.
