Energean and partner INA – INDUSTRIJA NAFTE have taken FID on the Irena gas field project in the Adriatic Sea offshore Croatia.

They plan to install a platform that will be connected to offshore infrastructure serving the Izabela Field. The estimated cost of the development is EUR71 million (US$80 million).

Irena is in the shallow-water (45 m) Izabela concession, operated by Edina d.o.o., a 50:50 joint venture between Energean and INA.

Energean, which has a 70% operating interest in the concession, assesses Irena’s P50 reserves at about 30.5 Bcf, or 5.4 MMboe.

Following the planned startup in the first half of 2027, production should peak at about 1,400-1,700 boe/d.
