Subsea7 to supply, install risers and flowlines for Búzios expansion project

LUXEBOURG — Petrobras has awarded Subsea7 a contract valued at more than $1.25 billion to support the Búzios 9 field development in the presalt Santos Basin offshore Brazil.
The location is in 2,000 m water depth and about 180 km from the coast of Rio de Janeiro state.
Subsea7’s work scope covers engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of 102 km of rigid risers and flowlines for the steel lazy wave production system.
Project management and engineering have started at the company’s offices in Rio de Janeiro and Paris.
Fabrication of the pipelines will take place at Subsea7’s spoolbase at Ubu in Espirito Santo state, with offshore operations due to take place in 2026 and 2027.
