NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE, UKCentrica Storage Ltd. (CSL) has appointed Fabricom Offshore Services to provide engineering, procurement, construction, and management services on the two Rough field platforms in the UK southern North Sea, 18 mi (29 km) off the East Yorkshire coast.

The five-year framework agreement includes options to provide support to the onshore Easington gas reception terminal.

Fabricom will be responsible for brownfield modifications, platform integrity and equipment upgrades, pre-decommissioning and decommissioning scopes on both platforms, and has already mobilized construction personnel to both facilities.

CSL decided last year to discontinue the Rough field’s role as a gas storage center, due to concerns over the offshore facilities’ long-term structural integrity, and to instead produce the field’s remaining gas. It anticipates production from Rough this year in the range of 9-11 MMboe.

Fabricom also revealed it had signed a two-year contract extension withBluewater for the provision of EPC and associated services for Bluewater’s FPSO fleet.
