STAVANGER, Norway – The subsea template for DEA Norge’s Dvalin field development has been loaded out from Egersund and is heading for the field location in the Norwegian Sea.

The 280-ton template was lifted from theAker Solutions yard quayside onto TechnipFMC’s offshore construction vessel Deep Explorer.

After performing a trial lift, simulating the offshore installation, the vessel sailed to the field location.

Some time today the template should reach Dvalin, 260 km (161 mi) northwest of Kristiansund.

“This marks the beginning of a busy period for DEA and the Dvalin project,” said Dvalin senior project manager, Keith O’Donnell.

“We have got several marine operations lined up for the next few weeks; the H25 module load-out and installation on the Heidrun platform and the gas export pipeline installation, to mention a few.”

First gas should follow in 2020.
