Subsea 7 to deliver export pipelines for Vito in the Gulf of Mexico

Subsea 7 has won a second construction contract for Shell’s deepwater Vito development in the Gulf of Mexico.

LUXEMBOURG– Subsea 7 has won a second construction contract for Shell’s deepwater Vito development in the Gulf of Mexico.

The latest contract was awarded by Enbridge Offshore Facilities LLC for the transportation and installation of 50 mi (80 km) of 18-in. oil export pipelines, 17 mi (27 km) of 10-in. gas export pipelines, and 3 mi (5 km) of associated steel catenary risers and pipeline end terminations.

Project management and engineering will take place in Houston, with support from Subsea 7’s offices in Glasgow, UK and Paris. Offshore installation activities are scheduled for 2019 and 2020.

Subsea 7 is already providing project management, engineering, procurement, and installation services to Shell for the Vito project.

The Vito field is located about 150 mi (241 km) south of New Orleans, with water depths up to 4,000 ft (1,219 m).
