OSLO, Norway --Hydro has contracted Subsea 7 for two installation jobs in the Norwegian North Sea, on the Vega/Vega South and Troll O2 projects. The combined value is over $340 million.

The scope for Vega includes engineering, fabrication, and installation of one 14-in (35.6 cm), and two 12-in (30.5 cm) rigid flowlines (51 km, or 32 mi, in total), tying the Vega and Vega South fields to the Gjøa platform. Subsea 7 will also supply and install three umbilicals, three MEG lines, and associated protection structures.

On Troll, the program calls for two flexible flowlines and one umbilical with a total length of around 13 km (8 mi). Subsea 7 will manage the work from its office in Stavanger, and from its new spool base in Vigra, western Norway. Installations should take place during spring-summer 2009.
