DARLINGTON, UK --Shell has contracted DeepOcean subsidiary CTC Marine for subsea services for its Curlew field development in the UK North Sea.
The work scope at the Curlew FPSO includes recovering two flexible risers that pass over a mid-water arch, and the installation of two replacement risers. All the risers are around 300 m (984 ft) long, and the water depth is 90 m (295 ft).
The 24-day program should start in late August, and will involve mobilization of the Maersk `R' class vessel with a flexible lay system.
