IRVING, Texas -- Pemex Exploration and Production has awarded ICA Fluor subsidiary Industrias del Hierro contracts totaling $20 million for two offshore Gulf of Mexico platforms.

Hierro will engineer, procure, construct, load, and seabed fasten the two 1,600-metric-ton (1,764-ton) platforms. Yaxche-B and KAB-A are expected to be completed by April 2008 and May 2008, respectively.

"Industrias del Hierro has successfully designed and constructed 11 platforms for PEMEX since 2003," says Juan Carlos Santos, ICA Fluor's director general. "We are pleased that we can continue to contribute to Pemex's development of the offshore fields in the Bay of Campeche."
