CAMBRIDGE, UK –The government of Nigeria and Aveva Solutions Ltd. are training 320 Nigerian engineers to use PDMS software for 3D detailed design for offshore and onshore facilities.

Funding for the training is coming from Nigeria's Petroleum Technology Development Fund. Lonadek Consulting, Aveva's Nigerian representative, is the main contractor performing the training.

"For the successful completion of front end engineering design and detailed engineering of the huge oil and gas projects in Nigeria, it is fundamental that the long-term capacity, capability and competence development programs focus on the development of highly skilled process, piping, civil/structural, mechanical, vessels, electrical, and instrumentation engineers -- designers; and technicians who can successfully execute projects using Aveva PDMS," says Dr. Lola Amao, principal consultant, Lonadek.
