Fairstar claims conversion `first'

ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands --Fairstar Heavy Transport has converted a semisubmersible barge into a self-propelled heavy transport vessel, the Fjord.
The company claims this achievement is a world first, and that it completed the conversion within half the normal time and for half the price of a newbuild vessel.
TheFjord, which is currently undergoing sea trials off Malta, will be capable of transporting large drilling rigs.
