Petrobras awards P-56 EPC for $1.2 billion

Petrobras has awarded a $1.2 billion contract to the FSTP consortium of Technip and Keppel FELS for engineering, procurement, and construction of the P-56 semisubmersible production platform.

PARIS –Petrobras has awarded a $1.2 billion contract to the FSTP consortium of Technip and Keppel FELS for engineering, procurement, and construction of the P-56 semisubmersible production platform for Marlim Sul oil production in 1,700 m (5,577 ft) of water in Campos basin.

Based on the existing P-51 platform, P-56 is expected to weigh 50,000 tons (45,359 metric tons) and have the capacity to process 100,000 b/d of oil and 5.2 MMcm/d (183.6 MMcf/d) of natural gas. Delivery is scheduled for 4Q 2010.
