Giant vessels enter Rotterdam yard

ROTTERDAM, the Netherlands --Keppel Verolme BV has won two outfitting/maintenance contracts with a combined value of $160 million.
On Dec. 11, the heavy lift/pipelay vesselSaipem 7000 sailed into Keppel's yard in Rozenburg for dry-docking. It is to undergo renovation work on its hull coating system, and maintenance of various components below the water line, including thrusters, overboard valves, the impressed current system, and the quick ballasting system.
Sevan Production also has contracted the yard for outfitting of its cylindricalSevan Voyageur FPSO, which will have oil storage capacity of 300,000 bbl, oil process capacity of 30,000 b/d, and a water injection capacity of 20,000 b/d.
This is the third FPSO outfitting program to be performed by Keppel for Sevan. This latest vessel, like the recently completedSevan Hummingbird, will be deployed next year in the UK central North Sea.
