Fabricom to upgrade Snorre A

Statoil has contracted Fabricom to modify the Snorre A semisubmersible platform in the North Sea.

STAVANGER, Norway --Statoil has contracted Fabricom to modify the Snorre A semisubmersible platform in the North Sea.

The $237-million contract includes changes to low pressure production equipment, and upgrading the platform's capacity for water injection, water treatment, and gas injection. Fabricom will provide engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning assistance.

Rosenborg Verft in Stavanger will act as Fabricom's partner in construction supply. Work starts immediately, and is due to continue through 2012.
