HOUSTON –Turkiye Petrolleri AO (TPAO) has selected AMEC Paragon to provide FEED work for a drilling and wellhead platform in the western Black Sea near Akcakoca, Turkey. This would be the first major Black Sea gas development for Turkey.

AMEC Paragon says its work will expand gas production capacity by 35% to 75 MMcf/d. The new four-legged platform in 312 ft (95 m) of water will be installed over two existing exploratory wells. TPAO plans to drill three or four additional production wells from the same platform starting in 2008.

TPAO, the Turkish national oil company, is operator with 51% for joint venture partners Toreador Resources (USA) and Stratic Energy (Canada).
