BG Tunisia, ETAP contract platform

ZWIJNDRECHT, The Netherlands --Heerema's Vlissingen construction yard has contracted Hasdrubal A platform engineering, procurement, construction, transportation, and installation for BG Tunisia Ltd. and Entreprise Tunisienne d'Activités Pétrolières.

This facility, consisting of a 1,000-ton (907-metric ton) jacket and a 1,500-ton (1,361-metric ton) topside, forms part of the Hasdrubal field development in the Gulf of Gabes on Tunisia's east coast.

Heerema says the five-story topside is progressing at Vlissingen. The under and main decks have been completed and the mezzanine, weather, and helidecks are under construction. The construction and installation is scheduled for completion at the start of July 2008. The well hook-up is planned during 4Q 2008. The Hasdrubal field is scheduled to be onstream in 2009.
