MEXICO CITY –A fire started at the damaged KAB-101 well in the Gulf of Mexico's Campeche Bay, and has been extinguished, says Pemex. The Mexico oil company says there were no injuries and that it will let the platform cool from the flames before assessing damage.

The well was leaking following damage from a rig during a storm and the fire seems to have started from sparks resulting from repair work.
