Aker awards LOI for Gjoa platform controls

Aker Kvaerner has awarded a letter of intent to Kongsberg Maritime for integrated control systems for safety and process automation on a semisubmersible production platform for Gjoa field in the North Sea.

OSLO, Norway --Aker Kvaerner has awarded a letter of intent to Kongsberg Maritime for integrated control systems for safety and process automation on a semisubmersible production platform for Gjoa field in the North Sea.

Aker will build the platform deck for Gaz de France Norway, the operator.

Gjoa is scheduled for first production in 2010.
