Major equipment contracts progress Tindalo field development
Offshore staff
PERTH, Australia -- The SC54A Joint Venture has awarded all major equipment contracts for the Tindalo oil field development including awards to Knutsen Shuttletanker Pool for an FPSO and Weatherford Asia Pacific for production processing equipment.
Service Contract 54A operator Nido Petrolem has contracted the FSO M/T Tove Knutsen for six months with an optional three-year extension. The double-hulled oil tanker has a 600,000 bbl oil capacity. During production, the vessel will be positioned near the Tindalo production facility and held on station using its dynamic positioning systems. Oil produced from the Tindalo well will flow to the vessel from the production processing system onboard the rig Aquamarine Driller via a floating hose arrangement and held in storage tanks until each cargo is lifted.
The vessel is currently enroute to Singapore from the North Sea for minor fit-out work in preparation for mobilization to the field in April.
Under its contract, Weatherford will supply the modular production processing system destined for the deck of the jackup drilling rig Aquamarine Driller. The JV partners will use the system during initial well testing and normal production operations. The equipment will also remove produced gas and water (if any) from the oil prior to its transfer to the FSO.
