TEHRAN -- China’s CNPC plans to develop phase 11 of the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf, according to Iran’s Petroenergy Information Network, Shana.

CNPC could start appraisal drilling in March to evaluate the size of the reserves in its concession reports Shana, quoting Reuters. It adds that Iran’s government approved the $4.7 billion phase 11 development plan in December, following a preliminary agreement signed last June.

Shana adds that CNPC has recruited around 60 staff in Beijing and Iran for its Iranian operations, which include two oil projects.
