DUBLIN -- Providence Resources has launched a development feasibility study for the Helvick oil field in Ireland’s North Celtic Sea Basin.

The company is investigating application of a minimal facility, unmanned production buoy system, which would be supplied by Aberdeen-based Unmanned Production Buoy Ltd.

Helvick is in Standard Exploration License 2/07, around 40 km (25 mi) off Ireland’s southern coast. Providence holds a 72.5% operated interest, in partnership with Atlantic Petroleum (18.3%) and Sosina Exploration (9.2%).
