HOUSTON -- 2H Offshore has completed its assignment as the certified verification agent (CVA) for the riser systems on the ATP-operated Mirage field development in the US Gulf of Mexico.

The scope of work covered the design, fabrication, and installation of the export SCRs and the design of the production and drilling top-tensioned risers. As the CVA, 2H was to ensure that the design, fabrication, and installation of the riser systems complied with industry codes and standards.

The Mirage field is in Mississippi Canyon block 941 in 4,000 ft (1,219 m) of water. Production is tied back to a floating drilling and production platform via dry tree top-tensioned risers. Two steel catenary risers (SCRs) export oil and gas processed fluids and a surface BOP high-pressure drilling riser is used for platform drilling.

2H’s engineering office in Houston was responsible for the CVA work.
