CALGARY, Alberta -- The topsides for Talisman Energy’s new Yme platform in the North Sea are complete and ready for load-out from the fabrication yard in Abu Dhabi.
Load-out and transportation to the location offshore Norway should start next month. Assuming clement weather conditions for the installation program, Talisman expects to achieve first production around the end of the year.
Development drilling continues, and should be completed later this summer.
In the UK central North Sea, Talisman’s Auk North development remains on schedule to achieve first oil in 2011. Work on Auk South also is progressing; the company recently issued construction contracts and expects start-up in 2012.
Later this year, Talisman’s Burghley subsea development (via the Premier-operated Balmoral platform) should deliver first oil. All umbilicals and pipelines are in place.
