Energean starts new Prinos drilling

Energean Oil & Gas has started drilling its Prinos oil field with the aim of increasing its production to 5,000 b/d.

ATHENS, Greece –Energean Oil & Gas has started drilling its Prinos oil field with the aim of increasing its production to 5,000 b/d. The “Prinos5000” project starts with PA-35, a side track from an existing well to be drilled with the GSP Saturn jackup.

Following that, the GSP Saturnis scheduled to perform interventions in the “Epsilon” oil field to optimize and increase its production.

Prinos is the main structure in the Prinos-Kavala basin offshore in the Gulf of Kavala. The field covers 4 sq km (1.5 sq mi) of area 8 km (5 mi) northwest of Thassos Island.
