Dragon outlines Caspian expansion timetable

Dragon Oil has issued an update on its facilities expansion program in the Cheleken Contract Area fields in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

ASHKABAT, Turkmenistan -- Dragon Oil has issued an update on its facilities expansion program in the Cheleken Contract Area fields in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

In May, the company commissioned two new eight-slot wellhead and production platforms. One contract went to Caspian Energy Projects LLC for construction of the Dzhygalybeg (Zhdanov) A platform, which will be installed in the Zhdanov Field. Delivery is scheduled for 4Q 2011.

The second contract was issued to ILK Insaat Taah, San. Ve.tic for construction of the Dzheitune (Lam) C platform for the Dzheitune (Lam) field, and which is due to be completed early in 2012.

Dragon says installation of a new 30-in. (76-cm) offshore trunk line and the Phase II upgrade to the Central Processing Facility are progressing well, and both programs should be completed later this year.
