(Irving, Texas) -- A development plan for Al Khaleej Gas-Phase 2 was signed by ExxonMobil Middle East Gas Marketing Ltd., Qatar, and Qatar Petroleum.

Plans call for production of 1,580 MMcf/d gas from North field when AKG-2 is operational in 2009. The plan calls for recovery of associated condensate and natural gas liquids.

Al-Khaleej Gas is being developed concurrent with the Ras Laffan LNG Expansion Project. Total investment for AKG-2 is expected to be more than $3 billion.

AKG-2 development will involve the construction of offshore and onshore facilities including two wellhead platforms, gas treating and liquids recovery facilities, and fractionation operations. The onshore components will be constructed adjacent to other RasGas facilities in Ras Laffan Industrial City.
