OSLO, Norway -- Standard Drilling ASA has exercised its option to built two added jackup rigs at Labroy Offshore Ltd.
The rigs will be of the Gusto MSC CJ-46-X100D design and will bring Standard Drilling's newbuild orders to four jackups scheduled for delivery in 2008 and 2009.
Standard negotiated an early delivery of the rigs at an extra cost of $5 million per rig to bring the total cost per rig to $153.5 million.
