SINGAPORE -- Sembawang Shipyard has secured a $19 million contract to upgrade and reactivate drillship Neptune Explorer, for Neptune Marine Oil & Gas Ltd. of Scotland.

TheNeptune Explorer is expected to undergo six months of major upgrading and reactivation work in the Singapore yard starting at the end of October 2006.

The scope of work includes an estimated 1,700 tons of steel renewal and new installation, complete overhaul and repairs to the marine systems. and rebuilding of accommodation spaces.
