OSLO, Norway – Equinor has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to start operations at the Trestakk field in license PL091 in the Norwegian Sea.

Production should begin this month.

Equinor estimates recoverable volumes at 67 MMbbl of oil and 1.4 bcm of gas.

Trestakk, 25 km (15.5 mi) southeast of the Åsgard field, has been developed at a cost of around NOK4.8 billion ($550 million) via a subsea template with four well slots and one satellite well.

The wellstream will be transported through a 12-in. production pipeline to the Åsgard A platform for processing, with gas injection for pressure support.
