LONDON – Gas has started flowing through the new Hasdrubal facilities offshore Tunisia, according to operator BG Group. Commercial production is set to follow in August.

The net output – BG has a 50% share in the development – will lift the company’s Tunisian oil and gas production from 32,000 boe/d currently to 56,000 boe/d, as Hasdrubal’s wells are progressively brought onstream.

BG anticipates becoming the country’s largest producer of gas, LPG, and liquids, supplying over 50% of domestic demand.

In May, the company says it also started up the Phase V compression project in its operated West Delta Deep Marine Concession off northern Egypt.
