Boskalis Australia wins Gorgon LNG port construction

Chevron Australia has awarded Boskalis Australia a $744-million contract to construct a port to serve the offshore Gorgon LNG project.

PAPENDRECHT, Netherlands -- Chevron Australia has awarded Boskalis Australia a $744-million contract to construct a port to serve the offshore Gorgon LNG project. Work is scheduled to begin early next year and is due to be completed by the end of 2011.

The project includes the design and construction of a port and material offloading facility at Barrow Island, Australia. The company also will construct a Ro/Ro facility, 200 m (656 ft) of quay walls, and mooring dolphins.

Under the contract, Boskalis will have logistical and program management responsibility for part of the basic infrastructure.
