TEHRAN -- The first jacket for the South Pars Phase 16 development is being prepared for installation in the Persian Gulf.

According to Iran’s Petroenergy Information Network, the 1,700-ton (1,542-metric ton) structure was manufactured at Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company’s yard at Khoramshahr. It was loaded onto a transportation barge last week, and should be installed shortly at its offshore location, followed by the deck.

South Pars Phase 16 is designed to produce 50 MMcf/d of gas and 80,000 b/d of gas-condensate.
