Technip awarded offshore Egypt EPIC contract

Burullus Gas Co. has awarded Technip a $96-million lumpsum engineering, procurement, installation, and construction contract for the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) Phase VII development project.

PARIS -- Burullus Gas Co. has awarded Technip a $96-million lumpsum engineering, procurement, installation, and construction contract for the West Delta Deep Marine (WDDM) Phase VII development project.

The project is designed to maintain an overall plateau production for the WDDM Concession, 95 km (59 mi) offshore Egypt.

Technip’s operating center in Oslo, Norway, will execute the contract with assistance from the group’s team in Cairo, Egypt. The contract covers turnkey delivery of the tie-in structure between a new gas export pipeline and two existing pipelines, including hot tap tie-ins.

Offshore installation is scheduled for 4Q 2010 using Technip’s vessel Wellservicer.
