ARENDAL, Norway -- Det Norske has awarded Sevan Marine ASA a contract to study the potential application of a Sevan FPSO on the Frøy field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

The study will be performed during the fourth quarter and will explore the feasibility of the Sevan cylindrical FPSO bridge-linked to a wellhead platform (WHP). According to the companies, this concept will enable dry tree well completions on an unmanned minimum WHP and avoid helicopter shuttling of personnel between the WHP and the FPSO.
