India approves Deen Dayal West gas field development

The Indian government has approved the field development plan for the Deen Dayal West gas field in block KG-OSN-2001/3, according to operator GSPC.

CALGARY, Canada -- The Indian government has approved the field development plan for the Deen Dayal West gas field in block KG-OSN-2001/3, according to operator GSPC.

The plan includes:
- Four existing wells (KG No. 8, KG No. 15, KG No. 17, and KG No. 28)
- 11 new development wells (three slant wells and eight multilateral wells)
- One wellhead and one central processing platform
- A 24-in. (61-cm) diameter, 20 km (12 mi) pipeline to shore
- An onshore gas terminal including gas sweetening, gas dehydration, dew point depression, condensate stabilization, sulphur recovery, and captive power units.

First gas production is slated for December 2011.
