J. Ray completes Poinsettia field contract

J. Ray McDermott has completed its portion of a contract with BG Trinidad & Tobago (BG T&T) for work on the Poinsettia field development project located offshore the northern coast of Trinidad in waters 530 ft (162 m) deep.

HOUSTON -- J. Ray McDermott has completed its portion of a contract with BG Trinidad & Tobago (BG T&T) for work on the Poinsettia field development project located offshore the northern coast of Trinidad in waters 530 ft (162 m) deep.

J. Ray undertook procurement, design, and fabrication of a 9,100-ton (8,255-metric-ton), four-leg, 12-skirt jacket, and 4,656 tons (4,224 metric tons) of piles. Design work was completed at J. Ray's engineering office in Houston and construction took place at the company's fabrication facility in Morgan City, Louisiana.

Along with the jacket and piles, J. Ray transported and installed the topsides, which were fabricated in Trinidad. Consortium leader Fluor performed overall project management and fabricated the 4,267-ton (3,871-metric-ton) topsides using Trinidad-based TOFCO, a joint venture of Louisiana, US-based Chet Morrison Contractors, and Trinidad-based Weldfab.
