STAVANGER – The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted StatoilHydro consent to use the vessel Navion Europa for storage of stabilized oil on the Volve field.

The consent applies to changes in the operational conditions for the Volve field during Sept. 15 to Oct 15. The field has been developed with the jackup processing and drilling facility Mærsk Inspirer. StatoilHydro has been granted consent to use the vessel Navion Saga for storing oil.

The main classification of Navion Saga is due on Oct. 1. Consequently, the vessel must leave the field for one month to go into dry dock. StatoilHydro wants to maintain production during this docking period, and will use the replacement vessel Navion Europa.
