ZWIJNDRECHT, Netherlands -- Heerema Vlissingen has completed the construction of a jacket and piles for the fourth platform on Nexen’s Buzzard field in the UK North Sea.
Today, the 3,500-metric-ton (3,858-ton) jacket and eight, 8-ft (2.4-m) piles were loaded on a barge from Heerema Vlissingen’s construction quay for transportation to the Buzzard field.
Heerema Fabrication Group’s Heerema Hartlepool facility is currently fabricating the 6,000-metric-ton (6,614-ton) Nexen Buzzard process deck and a 500-metric-ton (551-ton) bridge, due for load out in March 2010.
