BC Petroleum Sdn Bhd has begun the pre-development phase appraisal drilling on the Balai Cluster risk service contract offshore Malaysia.

SYDNEY, Australia –BC Petroleum Sdn Bhd has begun the pre-development phase appraisal drilling on the Balai Cluster risk service contract offshore Malaysia.
The first well, Bentara 2 in Bentara field is underway with a planned TD of 2,750 m (9,022 ft).
The Balai Cluster RSC consists of four fields: Balai, Bentara, West Acis, and Spaoh. The pre-development phase is expected to be completed by Q2 2013.
On successful completion of the pre-development phase and agreement on the economic viability of the fields, BCP will submit a field development plan.
Shareholders of BCP are ROC (48%), Dialog Group (32%), and PETRONAS Carigali (20%).
