DeepOcean to decommission Kittiwake buoy

DeepOcean ASA has received a letter of intent from AF Decom Offshore for the subsea work involved in removing the Kittywake offshore loading buoy in the UK North Sea.

HAUGESUND, Norway –DeepOcean ASA has received a letter of intent from AF Decom Offshore for the subsea work involved in removing the Kittiwake offshore loading buoy in the UK North Sea. DeepOcean would provide the vessel, equipment, personnel, engineering, and project management.

DeepOcean plans to use its newbuildVolantis to cut and recover the buoy mooring lines, piles, PLEM, weighting, buoyancy elements, pipe spools, flex riser, and umbilicals.

The NOK 60-million ($11-million) contract is scheduled for execution this summer.
