LONDON -- Centrica has awarded Petrofac a two-year contract, worth approximately $19 million for modifications, maintenance, and management services to expand the Grove field.

The contract involves Petrofac drawing on its design, fabrication, and installation experience to integrate topsides equipment for the platform well, Grove South, with two subsea tieback wells, Grove East and Grove West.

This element of the contract also includes replacing the platform control system, which will be provided from ABB and upgraded by Petrofac. Following on from this scope, Petrofac will undertake operations and maintenance activities for Centrica into next year.

Petrofac will incorporate onshore design and onshore construction work, managing the contract from its Great Yarmouth office and warehouse facility, with Normally Unmanned Installation (NUI)-based offshore intervention work to install and commission the new equipment.
