SINGAPORE -- Swiber Holdings Ltd.'s derrick barge, Dalihao, has completed the Mampak platform installation work for Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. Sdn Bhd.
The project is part of Swiber's $146.6-million contract with Brunei Shell to perform offshore work for two major projects, including pipeline replacement and Mampak development.
During its 45-day campaign in Brunei, theDalihao installed the 900-metric ton (992-ton) jacket and 1,300-metric ton (1,433-ton) topside in Brunei Shell's new Mampak field; and installed the 650-metric ton (716-ton) Magpie module and the fourth loading arm at the Brunei LNG terminal. The Dalihao also removed the old living quarters from the Ampa-6 platform, as part of Brunei Shell's decommissioning activities.
Dalihao is a heavy lift derrick barge capable of lifting up to 2,500 metric tons (2,756 tons). The eight-point mooring barge can install fixed and floating platforms, and can accommodate up to 236 people.
TheDalihao now is preparing to embark for its next offshore project in Indonesia for ConocoPhillips.
