PERTH, Australia -- Apache Energy has awarded Clough Ltd. a $200 million contract for the installation of the Reindeer Gas Field Development offshore facilities.
The Reindeer gas field lies in the Dampier Sub basin on the Northwest Shelf, offshore Western Australia.
The offshore scope of work includes the transportation and installation of an unmanned minimum facilities wellhead platform and the installation of a single 16-in. (41-cm) raw gas pipeline to the onshore gas treatment plant. The total length of the pipeline is approximately 100 km (62 mi) of which about 90 km (66 mi) will be installed offshore in up to 60 m (197 ft) water depth and a 2.5 km (1.6 mi) section comprising a horizontal directionally drilled shore crossing to link to the 10-km (6.2-mi) onshore pipeline.
The pipelay and platform installation work will be performed by the upgradedJava Constructor with the beach pull and pipeline stabilization from the Clough Challenge.
Engineering work will begin immediately with offshore construction planned for the second half of 2009 for completion by the end of the year.
