Aker Solutions inks deal to replace cement on Gullfaks A, B

StatoilHydro has awarded an EPCIC contract to Aker Solutions for replacement of cement units on the Gullfaks A and Gullfaks B platforms in the North Sea. Project completion is expected by July 2010.

OSLO -- StatoilHydro has awarded an EPCIC contract to Aker Solutions for replacement of cement units on the Gullfaks A and Gullfaks B platforms in the North Sea. Project completion is expected by July 2010.
Aker Solutions will perform all engineering and design work and replace the existing cement units in order to increase equipment capacities and fulfill new requirements and guidelines from StatoilHydro.
Design and procurement work will start immediately and be performed at the Aker Solutions' regional office in Trondheim, Norway. Fabrication activities will start January 2009. The work includes onshore fabrication and offshore installation of 220 metric tons (246 tons), and removal of 150 metric tons (168 tons) offshore.
