BAKU, Azerbaijan --KCA Deutag has contracted HB Rentals for an engineering cabin to be installed on BP's Shah Deniz platform in the Caspian Sea.
HB will supply a 20 x 8 ft (6.1 x 2.4 m), Zone 1 and A 60 fire-rated cabin, built at its base in Aberdeen. It will be pressurized to create a safe environment for technicians working on equipment designed to streamline manufacture of hydraulic hose assemblies.
The module will also be equipped with heating and cooling systems, and an integral fire and gas monitoring control and shutdown system which will be linked to the platform's central control room.
