Record crane order for Hydramarine

Hydramarine has won its biggest ever order for offshore equipment.

KRISTIANSAND, Norway --Hydramarine has won its biggest ever order for offshore equipment. The MacGregor-owned company will supply two active heave compensated cranes for an offshore vessel due for delivery to a Norwegian ship owner in 2010.

One of the cranes will have a 400 metric (441 ton) lift capacity and a 3,000 m (9,842 ft) hook travel. Both cranes will be manufactured at the company's factory in Kristiansand.

During 2009-10, Hydramarine will also supply cranes for four vessels being delivered to ship owners in Germany and India. These will have lifting capacities of 100-150 metric (110-165 tons) and a 2,000-3,000 m (6,561-9,842 ft) hook travel. In this case, manufacture will be performed in Singapore.
