STAVANGER, Norway –Methods of turning 3D laser scans into accurate platform drawings was presented by Scan Tech today at the Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) conference and exhibition.
The ability to accurately and efficiently map an existing platform is valuable at decommissioning when up-to-date blueprints are not available, said Scan Tech. The resulting drawings indicate the quantity, position, and condition of structures and piping.
