LONDON  Chariot has issued an update on its exploration and field development programs offshore Morocco.

Its exploration team has identified three prospects in the offshore Lixus license that all have potential for future development hubs, with tie-in potential to the planned infrastructure for the Anchois gas project in the same concession.

In the offshore Rissana area, the team has mapped giant prospective plays that could hold 7 Tcf, as assessed by Netherland Sewell and Associates, and other higher-risk multi-Tcf targets.

Chariot plans a new seismic survey across Rissana and parts of Lixus to strengthen its understanding of the basin potential.

As for Anchois, the Subsea Integration Alliance between SLB and Subsea7 completed the FEED in March, and Chariot is now close to finalizing the environmental and social impact assessment, a near one-year exercise that has involved 24 public hearings and onshore and offshore environmental baseline surveys.

Also completed are the geophysical and geotechnical site surveys onshore and offshore designed to support definition of pipeline routing and the landfall approach.
